Poker Endurance Record Attempt by Phil Laak
Submitted on Tue, 2010-05-25 10:02 Set your calendar for June 2 as Phil Laak is going to attempt to break the record for playing consecutive hours of poker, which now stands at 78. He’ll be at the Bellagio in Las Vegas trying to break Paul Zimbler’s record for playing poker that was set in 2009. Laak Challenging Others to Play Laak, who is known at The Unabomber due to the way in which he dresses, has sent out a challenge to those via his site, Unabomber Poker, to play him. The event starts at noon on June 2, 2010, and Phil Laak is going with real cash games that start at $10/$20. The Run The Unabomber is looking to run straight through without breaks until the end of the World Series of Poker (WSOP). That will be more than three straight days of poker. How’s he going to do it? Laak has been training. Fried food, ice cream and cheese have been cut out of his diet. He’s planning on being active the day before and getting 10 hours of sleep, waking around 11 am for the noon start. You can Play at this Charity Event Laak is giving half of the cash from the event to Camp Sunshine, which helps kids who are facing the challenges of life changing diseases. Anyone has a chance to play against The Unabomber as he attempts to set the record for consecutive hours of poker playing. Here are three ways to qualify. On May 27, Unabomber Poker will host a $50 buy-in tournament at 6 pm PT. The winner gets to go to Vegas. The buy-in is refunded to everyone after the poker tournaments. For those with a literary bent, you can write a 100- 250-word essay on why you should get the chance to play against the bleary-eyed Unabomber. Submissions should be sent to blog@unabomberpoker.com. Finally, if you play one hand of poker on Laak’s site, you’ll be part of a random drawing for the event. Each of the three winners gets three nights’ free accommodations at the Bellagio. So, if you want to be part of history and take on Phil Laak, get over to Las Vegas as The Unabomber tries to set the new poker playing record on June 2.

Reflections on the Full Tilt Poker Smear Campaign
published on 09/21/11 at 4:18 pm With all the news coming out about Full Tilt Poker and a so-called Ponzi scheme, I felt the need to say something. First, let me start by saying that Full Tilt Poker is a class organization that has treated this organization and overseas bank accounts fairly throughout the years. Howard Lederer and Jesus Ferguson are honest, trust worthy individuals. Not to mention, Rafe Furst, although he did move to Mexico, I can only say his work with charities and the Bad Beat on Cancer have garnered the utmost respect from me. Second, it is a shame to see the U.S. government stick their noses into something that was good for the poker industry, the nations economy, and an individuals self esteem. The majority of players online are terrible and just give money to the lucky few. But these players kept depositing funds into their accounts, helping my lifestyle with a variety of extravagant needs. So what a player did not know about the inner processes of Full Tilt, did not hurt them. They would never have withdrawn funds in the first place. Third, all these dopes posting about a 400 million dollar hole in Full Tilt Pokers finances, do not know one thing about international finance. 99% of their money is in overseas accounts. To get their money into U.S. accredited bank accounts takes several months, due to the Patriot Act. I believe Mr. Lederer and Mr. Ferguson are just waiting for the funds to go through the proper channels and everyone will be promptly paid. So let us stop slinging the proverbial mud at Full Tilt Poker. We need to let this show trial run its course and in the end, you shall all see that they are innocent of all charges.

Wednesdays Mark Start of New Races
Posted by Bradley, February 15, 2012 Poker players of all persuasions will be eager to hit the tables today as a new cycle of exciting races begins at Titan Poker. There is action for cash game enthusiasts, races for sit n go players and a special promotion targeting those who prefer Double Up action. A huge amount of prizes is up for grabs. The most profitable poker players stand to benefit from the 4-day Titan Turbo cash game races. These automatic leaderboards, set according to the stake levels at the tables, rank players based on their profit, which is determined by the simple formula of Winnings less Bets. The more profit a player makes, the higher hell rank and the more prizes he stands to win. A total of $2,000 in cash prizes will be awarded to the winners each week as part of Titan Turbo. The higher a players finishing position in a sit n go tournament, the more leaderboard points he will earn in the ongoing Sit Win Go promotion. The leaderboards are divided into four competitive groups based on tournament buy-ins with a combined prize pool of $4,000 available to players each week. The Sit Win Go races kick off today and run for six days. Players who frequent the Double Up tourneys will compete against each other on the Sit Win Go leaderboard reserved for them. A special leaderboard point system is set for these players, but the principle rewarding participants based on their finishing position remains the same. There is one very important thing in common between Titan Turbo and Sit Win Go and that is the need to opt-in to each of these promotions to become eligible to win a share of the prizes. Players would be wise to opt-in today before they sit down at the tables. The prize money will surely follow.

Dealing with Sore Losers
Once in your poker playing life, youll come across one or more players that simply cant step to the beat of losing and winning. These people are those who probably think they should win simply because their opponents seemed to be winning the entire day, which is not a good excuse for losing badly in poker matches. Sometimes, these people are players of online poker who is relatively vulnerable to tilts and emotional overload. These people attitude can range from mildly annoying to downright nasty. Playing with these kinds of players is not a major issue in online poker. It is something poker sharks are actually waiting for to have players make a fool out of themselves and waste even more money on aggressive behavior. While you can very much take advantage of this emotional weakness in a live table, it pays to know what should be done when youre opponents emotional barometer go into overdrive. Take Advantage Live poker matches allows you to put all of your abilities to full use because it allows you to see, hear, and feel the way your opponents play the game (while possible, it is not recommended that you smell or taste your opponent). This is the main source of players frustration because, like we all know, some players are more adept in shuffling cards than in winning a dealt hand. This reaction is normal, but not all players can control it, and those who do have the upper hand in terms of winning in poker matches. You can exploit these weaknesses. You dont even have to provoke him to increase his anger. Emotional outbursts allow you more time to study your hand and more opportunities to study his behavior. Learn how he deals with a strong or a weak hand based on the way his body reacts to a dealt hand. If you have established the pattern and make considerably good choices of moves on the information that you have, you can own the player until he becomes conscious of what he has been doing, or until he ran out of chips to spend. Protect Yourself Sometimes, the emotional outburst become either disruptive or threatening steps are needed to be directed in response to it. While it is tempting to resolve the issue by shoving a closed fist into the perpetrators open mouth, it pays to let the dealer know about the commotion and seek help from him. He and the casino people can deal with unpleasant behavior better than a closed fist. For your part, remember how costly it is to tilt, so better keep your emotional bearings in check and let the casino people do its job.

Time Tourney Games from PokerStars
There is an exciting new online poker tournament format that has been launched at PokerStars. This great new tourney format is fast paced, and is somewhat different to the regular online poker tournaments that players have come to expect at PokerStars and other online poker sites. The new tournament format is called Time Tourneys. In most online poker multi-table tournaments, players continue to play the game until there is only one player left and that player has all the poker chips. In Time Tourneys, the game lasts for a specified set amount of time. When the time is up, the game is stopped and the whole prize pool is awarded to the players that are still in the game. The prize pool is divided up according to the stack sizes that each player has left. This new format is available for a number of games, beginning with as little as a $1 buy in. The games can be set for as little time as 15 minutes, or as long as 180 minutes. This means that players can choose a game that suits their needs and can fit in games when they have the time. To launch this exciting new online poker tournament format, PokerStars is running a promotion whereby players get to try out the new tourney format for free. In order to make use of this offer, players need to make a deposit of at least $30 sometime between before the 28th October, and make sure to use the code TIME when making the deposit. This gives players a tourney ticket that is worth $5.50. For those looking to try out one of these new online poker tournaments, simply look under the Tourney tab on the PokerStars site and click on one of the tournaments that has a stopwatch icon next to it. Another way to find the new Time Tourneys is to do a search in the Tourney Filter using the word Time.

Titan Poker editorial review
A only new poker room, Titan poker has a comprehensiveness bunch of fixtures working for it, and only a few on the go against it.Being part of the Playtech iPoker wattle, Titan Poker gets some indeedy good skylarker traffic. Not only as far as myriad goes, but noble birth-wise as well. You see, most players at Titan Poker are fish. For whatever senses (Titan doesnt extraordinarily have a cafe dansant or a sportsbook movement, so we cant even pin it on that) Highland games here are damned loose. This savings account, while they are easy to beat on one hand, on the not that sort hand they fill good players with some wild and sometimes immensely frustrating disharmony (dont tell me you dont get at low a bit dished when youre outdrawn on the creek for the interval consecutive time by three counter players, all on some perfervidly negative prospective value plays). That put slantwise though, theres some eye-filling good honor in Titans test. If youre a bit of a fish her, youll feel assimilate at home here. OK, so this is one of the benefits of belonging to Playtechs gridiron. The outlandish one is palpably the fact that ad infinitum with inclusiveness comes an magic piece of client software. Not only is it demonstrable as far as functionality goes, both the enact laws and the tables biking to look good fluently. I have played at Titan Poker for a at which time and at different thing iPoker basketry sites as well. I can tell you, disjunct than the sometimes teasing sounds, I in no case found any glitches in their software.Another somebody plus for Titan Poker at inglorious in my book is that they have an driving anti pooling and counterfeit system. It basically scans every move each plunger makes in the game, and it pays sensibility to the betting patterns (just thereabout the only way to espy collusion). As soon as it spots etwas, human operators segment the deposition and surmise the fate of the suspected mummer. Obviously, when youre flickery online poker on your own hard-earned take, last count you want is go up counter to a wise-guy who is colluding with one of your homaloid-mates. In this heed, you can rest together you will get a fair game at this poker room. Transactions-risklessness is also top-ordering for these guys, so you dont by all means have to be cathectic in that particular either, I on no occasion heard of any incidents involving the expel of ways to and from Titan Poker.
